RCC Culinary Arts Center to Offer 8-Week Series of Free Cooking and Nutrition Classes for Food Insecure Individuals and Families

March 11, 2021 – Rockland Community College (RCC) is hosting an 8-week series of free cooking and nutrition classes for food insecure individuals or families. Up to two members from a family may attend. The classes will take place at RCC’s Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center located at 70 Main Street in Nyack. Participants will learn how to purchase and prepare delicious and nutritious food, and gain skills and confidence in preparing healthy food. Read more…

Jewish Social Action Group Receives Grant to Aid Immigrant Families

$2,500 award earmarked for Proyecto Faro’s food purchase & distribution program

Rockland Jews for Immigrant Justice (RJIJ) recently received a $2,500 grant to purchase and distribute food to 200 local immigrant families who have been getting emergency food assistance from Proyecto Faro, which supports those impacted by detention and deportation. Read more…
