RBA Leaves Blue Hill To Relocate To The Mill Complex In Nyack
Business News
Impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, Rockland Business Association has made some belt-tightening decisions. The RBA, which has been located at Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River, a premier Rockland County address, is relocating to 9 North Mill Street, Suite 103, in Nyack.
“As it turns out, our lease is up at our current location and some of our board members offered new office space with arrangements that could not be turned down,” wrote RBA President Al Samuels. “We have accepted one of those offers and effective November 1 we’re going to have a new address at the CEO Office Complex in Nyack.”
The C.E.O. (Custom Executive Office) Complex is located at the “Mill at Nyack,” a circa 1880s restored mill.
The organization is also losing long-time fixture Roger Scheiber, vice president of development, and Melissa Pensebene, administrative assistant.
“Unfortunately, Roger and Melissa are not moving with us; they are pursuing new opportunities,” said Samuels. “We are very grateful for the time they have spent with us. They are terrific people and I know you join us in wishing them the very best.”
Samuels said the organization is expecting a smooth transition to its new office.
For the past eight months the RBA has operated remotely or in a hybrid mode. Council meetings have been maintained through Zoom calls. RBA Chair Shelly Horowitz has launched a new Business Development Task Force chaired by Bill Madden of SUEZ.
The group held its first meeting earlier this month and I’m happy to share that there was a consensus to schedule three major events in 2021, said Samuels. The RBA is planning a virtual Pinnacle Awards celebration in February; a Golf Outing in June and a 4Q Annual Dinner (hopefully with live attendance). The group also is looking at other possible outdoor events, to include a barbecue, fireworks, and possible concert/music festival.
