RCF Steps Up To Aid 501 (c)(3)s Hardest Hit By COVID-19 Crisis
Initial total of $10,000 to be granted to various programs
Rockland Community Foundation (RCF) has set up an emergency grant fund to support nonprofit and community-based organizations in the county that address those populations most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The $10,000 in funding a rolling grant that will be responsive to the ever-changing challenges within Rockland. Preference will be given to existing nonprofits that are well suited to provide immediate assistance to those who are disproportionately affected by the Coronavirus. RCF opened a similar granting cycle after Super Storm Sandy in 2013.
“Rockland Community Foundation is committed to working with nonprofits that already have a pulse on the emerging issues of this crisis and those organizations that are already reaching and interacting with clients. They are at the front-line in terms of remediating the needs and issues surrounding this pandemic” said RCF Executive Director Julie Sadowski. “Our goal is to continue supporting the work of our nonprofit partners and to enable them to meet their missions,” she continued.
All told, RCF plans to collaborate with public health and nonprofit leadership to provide flexible resources to nonprofits working to address the most immediate public health and economic impacts of the disease.
The grant application will be posted on RCF’s website www.rocklandgives.org Existing 501 (c) (3) organizations who meet the criteria set forth by the Foundation are encouraged to submit applications. In addition, donations will be accepted online and through the mail to help support this granting initiative. In this initiative, 100% of the funds raised will go towards Rockland County nonprofits.
