WHO: Montefiore Nyack Hospital and Montefiore Einstein staff, volunteers, local elected officials, and representatives from sponsor Humana. Community Benefit Organizations: Soup Angels; Rockland Pride; Centro de Amigos; Center for Safety and Change; Jawonio; TOUCH/ Rockland Community Against Hunger; MLK Food Pantry; Head Start Nyack; Nyack Center; BOCES; Childcare Resources of Rockland; Finkelstein Memorial Library; Rockland Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence; Haverstraw Community Center.
ABOUT: More than 100 volunteers will sort and package 10,000 lbs. of fresh produce into 1,000 bags for local not for profits to deliver to those in need in the community. Each bag of produce will feed a family of four and supply nutrient rich vegetables for their Thanksgiving celebration. This is the first year that Montefiore Nyack Hospital is participating in Montefiore Einstein’s annual tradition.
Montefiore Nyack Hospital is a 391-bed community acute care medical and surgical hospital which was founded in 1895 and is located in Rockland County, NY. Its mission is to provide competent, innovative and accessible emergency and acute care services to the residents of Rockland County and surrounding areas. It is a member of Montefiore Health System and a partner with Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, providing clinical rotations to medical students.
