Montefiore Nyack Hospital Hosts Community Health Fair at Nyack Library
Nyack, N.Y. November 7, 2022 – Montefiore Nyack Hospital, in recognition of American Diabetes Awareness Month, will host a free Community Health Fair on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Nyack Library (59 S. Broadway) in Nyack, N.Y.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 133 million Americans are living with diabetes (37.3 million) or prediabetes (96 million).Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects how your body turns food into energy. There are three main types of diabetes: type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes (diabetes while pregnant). Rockland County community members are invited to stop by to meet hospital staff and ask questions about all aspects of diabetes, as well as heart health, stroke prevention, multiple sclerosis, joint health, Alzheimer’s disease, prenatal care and pharmacy services. Games and giveaways will be offered while supplies last. Attendees can enter for a chance to win an Apple iPad (10th generation).
