“I have completely outlived every fantasy I ever had about what my life could be. I’ve also crashed and burned more times than most would think survivable.” — Harvey Fierstein
Saturday, June 3rd — ArtsRock presents Harvey Fierstein in Conversation with Elliott Forrest. Mr. Fierstein, a four-time Tony Award-winning actor, playwright and screenwriter — star of Hairspray, Mrs. Doubtfire and Independence Day, and author of Torch Song Trilogy, La Cage Aux Folles, Kinky Boots, Casa Valentina and Newsies — shares stories from his life, career, and new memoir, I Was Better Last Night.
This heartwarming conversation will be guided by Peabody Award-winning WQXR broadcaster and producer, Elliott Forrest. “I’m so excited to bring Harvey to Nyack. I look forward to once again spending time with him on stage. He’s been such an icon for Broadway and living your truth,” says Forrest.
In addition to this fun, funny, and poignant conversation, the evening will feature a pre-show party (Mr. Fierstein not in attendance) to kick off Pride Month festivities. A portion of the proceeds from the evening benefit the Rockland Pride Center.
