Greg Brown to Take the Helm at Hudson Valley iCampus As Vice President/Director

Hudson Valley iCampus, New York’s premier hub for innovation, ingenuity and industry has named Greg Brown to oversee all aspects of the campus’ day-to-day operations, development and growth.

“We’re thrilled for the future of Hudson Valley iCampus,” said Greg Hipp, Chief Operating Officer of Industrial Realty Group, the developer who owns and manages the property

“Greg has shown throughout his career that he is an experienced leader, with a track record of improving operations, efficiencies and profitability. We welcome him to the IRG team and are ready to see the campus reach new heights of success.”

As HViC’s top executive, Brown will draw on his diverse 25 years of experience in development, asset management, leasing, property management and investment management. Prior to joining the HViC/IRG team, Brown led two companies as Chief Operating Officer. He was responsible for over $2.5 billion in asset under management across eight different states, most recently with a mid-market syndicator/operator in New Jersey. In his most recent COO role, Brown oversaw over 100 team members in the daily operations of over 50 assets, totaling 7.5 million square feet. He has also held FINRA Series 7/63 securities licenses as well as real estate brokerage licenses in five different states.

“It is an incredible opportunity to join an established, dynamic site owned by a world-class developer. IRG’s ability to create value at Hudson Valley iCampus highlights their skill in executing a clear, stead vision. It’s exciting to join such a creative, collaborative environment,” said Greg Brown, the project’s new Vice President and Director. “I’m looking forward to leading the Hudson Valley iCampus into the future— and its best chapter yet.”

Rockland County Finalizes Purchase of 236 Acres in Sloatsburg

Rockland County, through its Rockland County Open Space Acquisition Program has finalized the purchase of 236 acres known as the Eagle Valley Assemblage in Sloatsburg. The purchase is aimed at protecting the property, which has valuable water resources, wildlife habitats, and provide new opportunities for outdoor recreation.

“As someone who always enjoyed Rockland’s natural beauty, I know how important it is to safeguard these spaces for future generations,” said County Executive Ed Day. “With this acquisition the county hopes to establish a connection and corridor of the undeveloped land between Sterling Forest and Harriman State Parks while also safeguarding critical water resources.”

The purchase was made possible through partnerships with the Open Space Institute, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and New York State Parks. Using a $2.74 million Highlands Conservation Act grant, the county will look to replenish its Open Space Acquisition Fund and continue preserving even more land in the years ahead, Day said.

Open Space Acquisition Program was first launched in 1999 by former County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef but was suspended during the recession in 2010. In 2019, the Day administration, with the support of the County Legislature, revived the program, which has since preserved 323 acres.

“We are exploring the creation of a new county park and expanded trail connections on this site, so families can directly benefit from this investment in our quality of life,” said Day.

Rockland Community College (RCC) has received the 2025 Higher Education Excellence and Distinction (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Academia magazine, the nation’s oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.

Rockland is one of six SUNY campuses – and only SUNY Community College – to receive the recognition.

The HEED Award is a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to academic excellence, belonging, and community building across all levels of campus life. RCC is one of 61 institutions to be featured in the October 2025 issue of INSIGHT Into Academia.

This marks the fifth consecutive year RCC has been named a HEED Award recipient.

“Receiving the HEED Award for the fifth consecutive year is a tremendous honor,” said Dr. William P. Mullaney, president of Rockland Community College. “It’s a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff and students, and to our shared commitment to creating a campus where everyone feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed.”

“We take a detailed and somewhat holistic approach to reviewing each application in determining who will be named a HEED Award recipient. Our standards are high, and we look for institutions where academic excellence and belonging are woven into the work being done every day across their campus,” says Lenore Pearlstein, Co-Publisher of Insight into Academia magazine
