St. Thomas Aquinas College President Kenneth Daly Joins Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors
St. Thomas Aquinas College President Kenneth Daly has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC), strengthening the college’s commitment to advancing education, economic growth, workforce development, and innovation throughout the region.
“I appreciate the opportunity to officially join the HVEDC Board of Directors to help contribute to the growth and vitality of our region,” said Daly. “Education is a powerful engine for change — together, we can open doors for students, spark innovation for entrepreneurs, and build thriving communities for the future.”
Daly, who became the ninth president of St. Thomas Aquinas College on July 1, 2020, has led the institution through a period through growth and innovation. Under his leadership, the College launched a new School of STEM and an Astronomy Center, embedded undergraduate experiential learning throughout the curriculum, and modernized its MBA program to include concentrations in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and healthcare. The college has expanded its physical footprint by 30 percent and hosts the region’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) on campus, offering critical resources to entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Daly’s appointment to the HVEDC Board builds upon his 30-year career in the clean energy sector, where he served as President of National Grid New York. His academic credentials include a BA in English from St. Francis College, an MBA in Finance from St. John’s University, an MS in Human Resource Management from NYU, and completion of the Harvard Advanced Management Program.
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Daly has also served on boards including the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center (AERTC), and has lectured at Harvard, MIT, NYU, and internationally in the UK, Italy, and Canada.
Jawonio Foundation Hosts Inaugural Brick-A-Palooza: A LEGO®-Inspired Community Celebration
The Jawonio Foundation is sponsoring the inaugural Brick-A-Palooza, a family-friendly event celebrating creativity, community, and inclusion.
The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10am to 4pm at the Jawonio Main Campus, 260 N Little Tor Rd, New City.
“We are thrilled to host our first annual Brick-A-Palooza, an event that not only celebrates the joy of building but also promotes inclusivity and community engagement,” said Randi Castro, CEO of Jawonio. “This event exemplifies our dedication to creating opportunities for all and bringing the entire community together to learn more about us, people with special needs, and our Brick it Again Lego Resale® Store in Rockland County.
Brick-A-Palooza activities include:

- Live Music & Entertainment: Providing a lively atmosphere throughout the day.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 ages 6-12, and 5 and under FREE. Proceeds from the event will support Jawonio’s programs and services, ensuring continued support for individuals with disabilities in the Hudson Valley.

Montefiore Nyack Hospital Home Care Earns 2024 Strategic Healthcare Programs’ Superior Performer Patient Experience Award
Montefiore Nyack Hospital Home Care has been recognized for the third consecutive year by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as a “Superior Performer” for achieving an overall patient experience score that ranked in the top 20 percent of all eligible SHP clients for the 2024 calendar year.
The annual SHPBest award program was created to recognize home health agencies that consistently deliver high-quality care to their patients. The 2024 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking scores for overall experience for more than 3,200 home health providers.
