Every month, as data becomes available, RCBJ updates it “Price Tracker” enabling readers to see the effects on prices for various commodities from January 2024 through April 2025.
In April, egg prices retreated a bit down to $5.122 per dozen, from $6.227 in March.
Beef prices continued to rise, standing in April at $5.996 per pound and exceeded a recent high of $5.854 from March. Electricity prices maintained a recent high of $0.181/kwh. National unemployment stayed flat at 4.2% for April.
How the impact of tariffs or threatened tariffs will affect prices in May and beyond will be the subject of future reports with many retailer announcing price increases.
